She Leads Kalamazoo: A Community for Women Who Mean Business
It all started with coffee and a dESIRE FOR CONNECTION.
As a brand photographer working with powerhouse women-owned businesses across Southwest Michigan, I found myself craving deeper connection. Not just the kind that happens during a quick photoshoot or a scroll through Instagram—but real, face-to-face community. The kind of space where we could sip lattes, talk strategy, cheer each other on, and remind ourselves we’re not doing this thing alone.
So, I created She Leads Kalamazoo.
What began as a casual meet-up has grown into a monthly gathering of incredible women entrepreneurs, creatives, and leaders from all over the Kalamazoo area. We meet up at Schultz Sweets—a cozy, charming coffee shop on West Main that feels like it was made for community. Each month, we spotlight a local business owner (because we are all about celebrating women who are doing big things), hear from inspiring guest speakers, and create space for honest, real talk about the highs and lows of entrepreneurship.
No gatekeeping. No awkward networking energy. Just coffee, conversation, and community.
Whether you’re running a thriving business or just dreaming up your next move, She Leads Kalamazoo is for you. We believe in showing up as ourselves, sharing what we’ve learned, and supporting one another as we grow.
And because I’m all about giving women-owned brands the spotlight they deserve, I’ll be featuring one local business from the group each month right here on the blog. Think of it as your go-to guide for discovering some of Kalamazoo’s most inspiring female-led brands.
If you’re a Kalamazoo-based business owner looking for community, come grab a coffee with us. We meet monthly and you’re invited.
Because when women come together, magic happens.
